Our Mission
Los Bomberos of Northern California is a non profit 501(C)(3) comprised of San Jose Fire Fighters, their families, friends, and community members. We work to enrich the community we serve. Our volunteers are dedicated to make a positive impact to our local community through charitable acts, educational support, fire recruitment, and outreach. We use our resources to promote a stronger community.
Our Programs:
LOS BOMBEROS CHRISTMAS TOY DRIVE
For nearly four decades, Los Bomberos of Northern California has sponsored a Christmas Toy Drive. Los Bomberos Christmas Toy Drive is an important event where our organization gives back to the community during the Christmas season, by providing toys to local families. Every member of Los Bomberos believes that children should have gifts to open on Christmas morning.
With support from our membership, sponsors, and volunteers, we are able to spread Christmas cheer to hundreds of families in our area.
LOS BOMBEROS BACKPACK DRIVE
Los Bomberos of Northern California and San Jose Fire Fighters Local 230 support an annual backpack drive for local elementary school children. We are committed to providing children with the basic supplies needed to support their early education. Back packs and school supplies were provided to 1000 students at 3 different schools sites this past year.
These simple supplies give students the local confidence to start the school year without worrying about cost.
FIREFIGHTER RECRUITMENT BOOTHS
The San Jose community is one of the most diverse places in the United States. We believe the Fire Department is a community-oriented organization and as such the members should reflect the diversity the community we serve.
We strive to recruit future firefighters by visiting schools and setting up recruitment booths at schools including Colleges. Our Purpose is to inspires the next generation of firefighters. We believe in showing or love for serving the public and hope to find the future of firefighters at these booths.
